The office of Prime MInister has ordered the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) to investigate the unregistered online entity that has been advertising the ability to reserve for COVID-19 vaccines in advance.

The secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, said that, since
there are no private companies in Thailand importing COVID-19 vaccines at the moment, this advertisement is probably a scam.

The website asks people to complete a form with their full name, medical details, and ask for a fee. The site, however, provides no indication that it has been authorized by Thai Food and Drug Administration to import the approved vaccines or to buy from authorized importers.

Thanakorn added that the organization behind the website is not a medical institute, and is not authorized to advertise or promote the vaccines.
