The Criminal Court has granted conditional release for three anti-establishment Ratsadon protest leaders, Anon Nampa, Panupong Jadnok, alias Mike Rayong, and Chukiart “Justin” Saengwong.

Informed court sources said today that the Criminal Court held a video conference with Chukiart, who was being held in custody at Bangkok Remand Prison, to consider his bail request.

The court was satisfied with Chukiart’s past record, in that he did not attempt to evade arrest nor were there any indications that he would try to escape if he were to be released on bail.  He gave a written undertaking to comply with the bail conditions imposed by the court and the court found the guarantor, who posted property worth about 200,000 for bail surety, to be trustworthy.

The court decided to grant bail to Chukiart on the condition that he does not get involved in activities which may deemed offensive to the monarchy, participate in a protest which may cause unrest, leave the country without authorization from the court and reports to the court as required.

Anon and Panupong, who were also detained at Bangkok Remand Prison, were also released on the same terms and conditions.

The trio were indicted on lèse majesté, sedition and a host of other charges in connection with the protests at Sanam Luang and Thammasat University on September 19^th and 20^th last year.

Several other Ratsadon protest leaders have already been released on bail by the Criminal Court.  Among them are Parit “Penguin” Chiwarak, Ms. Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul, Patiwat Saraiyaem, Jatupat Boonpatthararaksa, alias Pai Daodin, and Piyarat Chongthep.
