Thai authorities offer ฿3k cash reward for information on illegal road racing

Individuals who provide information to the police about illegal road racing, which leads to the arrest of the offenders, can claim a cash reward of 3,000 baht.

Deputy government spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek said today (Thursday) that, to date, 23 informants have already received the cash rewards, which were wired directly into their bank accounts.

She said that anyone who has information about an illegal road race can notify the police via the 191 emergency call centre, 1599 hotline or the Facebook page of the Special Operations Centre of the Royal Thai Police, providing images or clips of the road racing as evidence.

Rachada said that the government would like Thai people to celebrate the Songkran festival in safety and has instructed the police to crack down on drunk driving as well as illegal road racing.

Moreover, she said that the police have cracked down on garages which modify car engines for racing or which sell substandard exhaust pipes and on the road race assembly points.
