Thai and Myanmar protesters rally in front of Myanmar Embassy

Thai and Myanmar supporters of National League for Democracy (NLD) leader Aung San Suu Kyi rallied in front of the Myanmar Embassy on Sathorn Road in Bangkok on Thursday night.

The Myanmar citizens, who live in Thailand, used their mobile phone flashlights as symbols of protest against this Monday’s military coup in Myanmar, led by General Min Aung Hlaing, while several Thai protesters, mostly followers of the Ratsadon group, lit candles to in protest against Myanmar’s military junta.

At about 8.20pm, police asked the protesters to disperse, but some of the demonstrators refused to comply.
