40 percent of the greater Bangkok area will be hit by strong winds and rain, with temperatures dropping to 22-23^oC in the morning, according to the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast covering 24 hours from 6pm on Sunday.

Temperatures in the rest of the country are also forecast to drop to a low of 20-21^oC in northern provinces, 22-23^oC in north-eastern provinces, 22-23^oC in central and eastern provinces and 23-24^oC in the south.

The highs around the Kingdom will range between 28-33^oC, according to the Met Department.

The cold weather affecting all parts of Thailand is due to an intense cold front from China, which is looming over the north of the country.

Sailors and fishermen are advised to exercise caution and to avoid rough seas in stormy areas in the Gulf, with wave height averaging two metres in the upper gulf, and 1-2- metres south of Nakhon Si Thammarat province.
