Supreme Court upholds death sentence on school director for fatal gold shop robbery

The Thai Supreme Court has upheld the death penalty imposed by two lower courts on the former director of a primary school, who was found guilty of robbing a gold shop in Lop Buri province, killing three people and injuring another in the process.

In upholding the death sentence, the Supreme Court ruled that the defendant’s acts, which took place in a shopping mall, was outrageous and unbecoming of a school director who should be of good character and a model citizen.

The robbery took place on January 9th, 2020 in Lop Buri, when the lone gunman, Prasitchai Khaokaew, director of a primary school in Sing Buri, robbed the Aurora gold shop.
