Two Malaysians travelling by a car were injured around noon after explosives hidden in a culvert beneath a road exploded in Narathiwat's Tak Bai district on Monday.
Their car was severely damaged, and the blast left a large crater on Highway 42 in Ban Praiwan.
The injured Malaysians, aged 45 and 38, suffered head lacerations and cuts to their arms.
Deputy Narathiwat Governor Chakrit Suranattakun visited the two Malaysians at the hospital and instructed relevant authorities to ensure they received appropriate care.
