Bangkok Mass Transit System Plc (BMTS) has been conducting test runs on the BTS extension of the northern Green Line route,from Wat Phra Sri Mahatat station to Khu Khot station, since Monday.

BMTS Managing Director Mr. Surapong Laoha-anya said today (Wednesday) that the tests of the trains and related systems for the extension, covering seven stations, went on smoothly, adding that system integration tests are the next step, which will include the signal and communication systems, to make sure that everything is synchronized and functions correctly and safely.

The northern route of the Green Line, from Mor Chit to Khu Khot, covers a distance of 9.8km. Altogether the Green Line is 68.25 km long, covering 59 stations.

Installation of platform screen doors at all seven stations, as well as at Surasak and Thonglor stations, has been completed.

The entire Green Line route will be open for public service by the end of this year, said Mr. Surapong.
