Singer “Psy” wins Artist of the Year at the Golden Disc Awards

South Korean pop singer, Psy, who shot to international fame for his “Gangnam Style” mega hit in 2012, was named Artist of the Year at the 37th Golden Disc Awards held at the Rajamangala national stadium in Bangkok on Saturday night.

After a five-year hiatus, Psy returned last year to produce a new album, Psy 9th.

Meanwhile, K-pop group, BTS, won Album of the Year for the sixth time in a row. The award was received by J-Hope on behalf of the band.

Other winners of Golden Disc Awards were:

Digital Song of the Year: IVE – “LOVE DIVE”

Rookie Artists of the Year: IVE, LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans

Best R&B Hip-hop: Big Naughty

Best Solo Artist: BE’O and YOUNHA

Best Producer: Seo Hyun Joo (Starship Entertainment)

Thai K-pop Artist: SEVENTEEN

Best Group: TREASURE

Best Performance: SEVENTEEN

Tik Tok Golden Disc Most Popular Artist Award: BTS

Most Popular Artist: (G)-DLE and Stray Kids

Album of the Year: BTS – “Proof”
