Seripisut to livestream PM’s oath recital issue on his Facebook page

Defiant Seri Ruam Thai party leader, Pol Gen Seripisut Temiyavet, said today that he will livestream, via his Facebook page, his unfinished speech on Prime Minister Prayut’s incomplete oath recital during the swearing-in ceremony last March.

He told the media at parliament that he had prepared information about the controversial case, even before the Government formally assumed office, and will inform the public through the online channel after his attempt to raise the issue during the censure debate yesterday was blocked by protests from government MPs.

The former national police chief added that he is mulling legal action against the House of Representatives for forbidding him to talk about the issue during the censure debate.

Seripisut also dared Palang Pracharat MP Sira Jenjakha to go ahead with his threat to ask the House to probe his conduct, for allegedly intimidating Deputy House Speaker Supachai Phosu during the censure debate, saying that he was considering legal action against the MP for engineering an attempt to unseat him from a House panel working against corruption and misconduct.

Earlier yesterday, House Speaker Chuan Leekpai said that the Government and Opposition whips had informally agreed that the Prime Minister’s oath issue would not be raised during the censure debate, because the issue concerns the Monarchy and that there had already been a ruling by the Constitutional Court.
