Religious activities nationwide to pray for Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s recovery

Religious activities and prayer sessions are being held in temples across Thailand in a spontaneous outpouring of love and good wishes for HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati, who is currently being treated at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.

People from all walks of life continue to stream to the Bhumisiri Mangkhalanusorn Building at the hospital to write their get well messages for the Princess in special books.

Waraporn Soisen, a graduate in Economics from Rajabhat Buri Ram University, travelled to the hospital all the way from the north-eastern province of Buri Ram on Saturday.

The diminutive graduate said she received her BA degree from the Princess in September this year, adding that she brought with her a photo of the graduation ceremony and a letter she wrote from her heart about the kindness shown to her by the Princess.

She said the Princess had instructed officials to ensure that she got home safety after the graduation ceremony.

99 monks walked from Phetchabun Province to Prasat Hin Phimai, an ancient Khmer temple in Phimai district of the north-eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima, to join people in the district today (Sunday) to pray for the Princess’s quick recovery from her illness.

At the 750-year-old Phutthamonthon Somphot historical site in Mae Lao district of Chiang Rai Province, Governor Puttipong Sirimat led officials and the public in a mass prayer to bless the Princess for a speedy recovery.

Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Opart Karnkawinpong and senior health officials presented alms to nine monks and joined a prayer session at Phra Nang Klao Hospital for the Princess.
