Record 670,834 vaccinations given on August 5th in Thailand

A total of 670,834 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in Thailand on Thursday, which is the most given in the country in a single day since February 28th, according to the COVID-19 Information Centre.

By Thursday, 19,632,537 people in Thailand had been vaccinated, including 15,180,276 people who have received the first jab and 4,277,071 who have been fully inoculated.

Also on Thursday, 175,190 mostly frontline health officials received their third booster shot.

Meanwhile, Government Spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said today (Saturday) that the government distributed the 1.1 million rapid antigen test kits, donated by the Swiss government, to 13 COVID-19 “Dark Red” provinces as follows:

200,000 for Bangkok
75,000 each for Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani
70,000 each for Ayutthaya, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, Chon Buri, Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao
45,000 each for Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Songkhla
150,000 kept in reserve at the Ministry of Public Health.
