Public invited to submit pictorial materials of Tham Luang operation

The Ministry of Culture is inviting members of the media and the public to send their still pictures, video clips, paintings, drawings or documents about the Tham Luang dramatic rescue operation to the ministry from today until July 25 so that they will be collected and recorded in the world’s archives.

The pictorial materials and documents can be sent to www.m-culture.go.th , Line@0fl6289y or ThaiMCulture Facebook.

Meanwhile, Wikipedia has chronicled the historic event in details starting from Day 1 on June 23 when the 12 young footballers and their coach went into Tham Luang cave in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai and got trapped because of rising water in the cave from heavy rains, forcing them to go deeper into the cave.

The free encyclopedia then narrated the search operation until all the 13 were found sheltering on Nern Nom Sao mound on July 2 by British cave divers Richard Stanton and John Volanthen, the planning and preparation to get them out of the cave and the works of the other support teams, the death of former Navy SEAL member Lt-Cmdr Sama Guna and, finally, the successful rescue of the 13 survivors.

It listed details of the support provided by various governments from Australia, US, Finland, to Laos, Russia and Denmark.

Altogether 178 references were cited by Wikipedia in this chronicle.
