Pope Francis lands in Bangkok for historical visit
Pope Francis has landed in Bangkok for his three-day visit to Thailand. The papal plane touched down at the Don Muang military airport shortly after 12 pm.
He was welcomed on the tarmac by President of Privy Council Gen Surayud Chulanont and greeted by senior members of the Catholic church and hundreds of Catholic faithfuls. Also on hand to welcome him was his cousin Sister Ana Rosa Sivori who has been working in Thailand for 54 years. Pope Francis will be in Thailand until Saturday.
