Opposition Pheu Thai is the party with the best chance offorming the next government, followed by the Move Forward and the Palang Pracharath parties, according to a poll by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) released today (Sunday).

NIDA conducted an opinion poll on “Six Parties and Their Chances of Forming the Next Government” between December 7th and 9th among 1,310 people of variouseducational backgrounds, incomes and professions across the country.

The poll shows:

40.38% said that the Pheu Thai Party stands the best chance of forming the next government

32.44% said the party will definitely form the next government

16.88% said the party has little chance

8.27% said the party stands no chance at all

While:

30.23% said the Move Forward Party has a good chance of forming the next government

31.45% said the party has fewer chance

23.66% said the party will have no chance

11% said the part will definitely be in the government

As for the ruling Palang Pracharath party:

33.51% of the respondents believe it has no chance offorming the government

32.60% said the party has little chance

10.76% believe the party will definitely form the government

For the Ruam Thai Sang Chart (United Thai Nation) Party,which has invited Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to join, the poll shows:

43.12% of the respondents believe the party has no chance of forming the government

31.45% said it has little chance

15.73% believe the party will may have a chance

5.73% believe the party will definitely form the government

For the Bhumjaithai Party, the poll shows:

39.16% believe the party has little chance of forming the government

30.84% said the party will definitely miss out in the next government

21.60% said the party has a good chance of forming the government

4.96% believe the party will definitely be in the new government

For the Democrat Party:

40.96% of respondents said the party has only a slim chance of being in the next government

38.93% believe the party will definitely miss out

13.20% said the party has a good chance of joining the government

4.58% believe the party will definitely be included in the new government

The poll also shows that 45.65% do not believe that the Pheu Thai and Palang Pracharath parties will coalesce to form a government after the next election against 16.64% who believe they will. Only 5.19% believe they definitely will,because the leaders of the two parties have had a good relationship in the past.
