Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra topped the listpoliticians from whom respondents want to hear in the upcoming no-confidence debate, followed by opposition leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut and Palang Pracharath leader Prawit Wongsuwan.
The NIDA Poll, released today, stated that 41% of respondents want to hear the prime minister speak, while 34.35% were interested in Natthaphong, leader of the People’s Party, and 11.83% in Prawit.
Meanwhile, 66.79% believe that the opposition will present important information, but will not be able bring down the government.
Another 19.31% feel that the opposition lacks strong enough arguments to succeed in the motion, while 11.30% believe the opposition will prevail.
Regarding the opposition’s decision to remove former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s name from the censure motion,at the request of the House Speaker, 37.48% disagreed, saying the opposition should have stuck to the original plan, while 32.44% agreed, arguing that the no-confidence debate would not have taken place otherwise.
The survey was conducted between March 11th and 13th, with 1,310 respondents aged 18 and above in various careers, professions, and income groups across the country.
