All government coalition parties have pledged to vote in support of the budget bill for the 2026 fiscal year, said Varawut Silpa-archa, minister of social development and human security and leader of Chart Thai Pattana party today.
He said Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra called a meeting with the leaders of coalition parties, after the Cabinet meeting today, to discuss next year’s budget bill and their respective positions on it.
The meeting was to ensure that there is a consensus among coalition parties and to refute speculation that the Bhumjaithai party may not vote in favour of the bill, which is due to be debated in the Lower House on May 28th, 29th and 30th.
The Cabinet approved the draft 3.78 trillion baht budget bill for 2026 fiscal year today.
Allocation of the budget is currently as follows:
• Security: 415.3 billion baht.
• Improvement of Thailand’s competitiveness: 394.6 billion baht.
• Human resource development and capacity enhancement: 695.9 billion baht.
• Opportunity creation and social equality: 942.7 billion baht.
• Improvement of an environmentally-friendly quality of life: 147 billion baht.
• Balancing of public sector management development: 605.4 billion baht.
