Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said that 2025 will be a year of opportunities for all Thai people, including economic opportunities, opportunities to do whatever they wish and to be successful.
In her New Year’s message, the prime minister said that, last year, both her government and the people had gone through both good and bad but, with unity and mutual understanding, they have overcome the hardships together.
Citing the devastating flooding in several northern, north-eastern and southern provinces, she said that the country and the people have overcome the devastation, thanks to the spirit of cooperation of all parties concerned, be it the government, the police, the military, the private sector, the volunteers or the people in general.
The prime minister said Thailand was mired in economic crises in 2024, mainly due to a global economic slowdown, international conflicts and trade sanctions.
