Police close two online gambling networks, arrest 11 in three provinces

Police from Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) have arrested 11 suspects and seized assets worth about 70 million baht, in raids on four locations operated by of two online gambling networks in three provinces.

CCIB Commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Worawat Watnakornbancha said that the two online gambling platforms, Xoslotz1688.com and slotking77.com, offered several types of betting to their customers, such as on soccer matches, slots, bingo and fish hunting, complete with cash deposit and withdrawal services through commercial banks and credit for customers.

During the first raid, on a house in Phlapphla sub-district, in Mueang district of Chanthaburi, which is also a mangosteen shop, police arrested four suspects and seized several cars worth more than 30 million baht.

In the second raid, on a house in a housing estate in Thanyaburi district of Pathum Thani province, the police arrested one suspect and seized two Porsche sports cars, one 6-million baht wristwatch, two handguns and several other items worth more than 30 million baht.

In the third raid, on a house in Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani province, police took one suspect into custody and seized assets worth more than 10 million baht.

Two suspects were nabbed during another raid in Mueang district of the southern province of Trang.

Police claim that the two online gambling platforms have over 80,000 customers combined.
