Police arrested 19 Rohingya in Pathum Thani
In Bangkok’s neighboring province of Pathum Thani, police arrested 19 Rohingya at a construction site in Bang Khu Wat sub-district in Muang district yesterday. Seven of them tested positive for COVID-19
A Thai woman was also held in police custody for providing shelter to the illegal immigrants.
The woman, identified only as Mrs. Lamai, claimed that her Myanmar husband brought the 19 Rohingya to stay with them at a worker’s lodging at the construction site.
All the seven infected Rohingya were isolated for treatment, while the remainder, as well as 25 police officers involved in the raid, were tested and suspended from duty in isolation for 14 days.
