Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said he will not go to the Pheu Thai headquarters this afternoon to meet former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, as it is still during working hours.

Thaksin is scheduled to visit the Pheu Thai HQ in Huai Kwang district, the party he founded, for the first time since being released on parole last month. Thaksin’s youngest daughter Paetongtarn is now the party leader.

Despite this, Srettha had previously met Thaksin twice already, at Thaksin’s Chan Song La residence and in Chiang Mai. Many ministers in Srettha’s government plan to welcome Thaksin, who is scheduled to arrive at 1.30pm.

Srettha told reporters that he can see Thaksin outside working hours.

Srettha said that he will go to Rajamangala National Stadium to watch the football match between the Thai and South Korean national teams this evening, which kicks off at 7:30pm
