PM to check readiness of Bangkok’s Pink Line monorail system on Monday

Outgoing Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and some of his ministers will inspect the readiness of the Pink Line monorail system on Monday, before the launch of its public trial run.

Accompanied by Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda, PM’s Minister Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana and Deputy Transport Minister Atirat Rattanaseth, Prayut will ride the train from Min Buri station to the Government Complex station and back to Lat Pla Khao station, which will take about 30 minutes.

The Pink Line from Kae Rai to Min Buri covers a distance of 34.5 and passes through 30 stations. The project has been implemented by the Mass Transit Authority of Thailand at an estimated cost of 53 billion baht.

The monorail system will link with the Purple Line at the Nonthaburi Government Complex on Rattanathibet Road and with the Orange Line at Min Buri station, where there is a park and ride facility for motorists.
