Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has asked the public to have faith in his government, as he vowed to put economic policies promised during the election campaign into immediate practice.

Speaking to the media after leading his 34 cabinet ministers in an oath-taking ceremony before Their Majesties the King and Queen at Dusit Palace, Srettha said that his government is fully aware of the pressing problems faced by the people, be they economic, social or political division, and is committed to addressing them with resolve as quickly as possible.

Regarding the “digital wallet” scheme, he said that he expects it to be launched within the first quarter of next year.

The prime minister asked for time to allow his ministers to do their jobs first. He admitted, however, that some of their policies could not be implemented quickly and the people may have to wait, but those which can be implemented quickly will be.

He said that he and some of his minsters will travel to Khon Kaen, Udon Thani and Nong Khai provinces this Friday to meet with the people to get first-hand reports about their problems.

He is scheduled to deliver his policy statement to parliament on Monday September 11.

Before the oath-taking ceremony, the prime minister and his ministers gathered at Government House ,  where all of them posed for a group photo.
