Please allow me to work and ask me again if I have a free hand : Srettha

PM Srettha Thavisin pays respect to a sacred shrine in the Government House.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said today (Wednesday) that he will work diligently, because the public are expecting him to solve their problems, but asked for time to do what is needed.

Srettha was speaking at a press conference today, after he had chaired the first Cabinet meeting at the Government House, following an oath-taking ceremony before Their Majesties the King and Queen on Tuesday.

In his first Cabinet meeting, Srettha said that they had just exchanged opinions, adding “I just informed them of the direction of this government. Like I said before, this government will do its best and work tirelessly for the benefit of the country and the people.

He said he told his Cabinet members to adhere to the law, be fair and to respect government officials.

Asked to comment on whether he will have a free hand in administering the country, given the fact that Pheu Thai party has very close ties to the Shinawatra family, Srettha responded “Please allow me to work for three to six months and ask me again.”
