Pathum Thani, just north of Bangkok, has ordered two markets in Thanyaburi district to close for 5 days from today after COVID-19 infections were found to be linked to them.

In addition to Suchart and Pornpat markets, adjacent buildings in Prachathipat sub-district have also been closed and Pathum Thani’s governor, Chaiwat Chuenkosum, has imposed a 14-day quarantine and restrictions on the movements of migrant workers.

Both markets will be disinfected and must propose, and have approved by the provincial administration, disease control plans before reopening.

In Pathum Thani, 5 patients are currently receiving treatment in hospitals, with 3 others under observation.
