Party drugs disguised as drinks and coffee packs for sale on TikTok – ONCB

Drug trafficking gangs have recently turned to a new trick to sell party drugs online, such as ketamine and Ecstasy, disguised as electrolyte and collagen drinks and coffee.

The Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) Secretary-General Wichai Chaimongkhon said today (Wednesday) that officials received a report yesterday of an advertisement on TikTok offering such items containing the party drugs.

The post also shows phone numbers and WhatsApp contacts in a neighbouring country, said Wichai, adding that several TikTok users, including Thais and foreigners, had made purchases.

He said that the coffee was offered at 1,500 baht per pack (retail) and 1,200 baht (wholesale) adding, however, that the drugs are available in the Golden Triangle area and not yet in Thailand.

He warned that the packs often contain a mixture of several party drugs, which are highly dangerous for consumers and may result in sudden death.

The ONCB has been closely monitoring websites which have posted advertisements offering illegal narcotics for sale online, said Wichai, as he warned that the web masters or administrators may face jail terms of two years and/or fine of up to 200,000 baht for posting such ads.
