The Palang Pracharat party will join fiveother parties to announce the formal formation of a coalition government tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Sukosol hotel.
Palang Pracharat party leader Uttama Savanayana and party secretary-general Sontirat Sontijirawong, Ruam Palang Prachachart Thai secretary-general Thaweesak na Takuathung, Chart Pattana advisory chief Suwat Liptapanlop, Palang Thongthin Thai leader Chatchawal Kong-udom, Rak Poenpa Prathet Thai leader Damrong Pidet and Prachachon Patiroop leader Paiboon Nititawan will appear at a news conference to make the announcement, according to the Palang Pracharat news release.
Obviously, the news release did not mention the names of three other possible coalition partners namely the Democrat, Bhumjaithai and Chart Thai Pattana parties, which combined a command of 104 votes in the House.
Democrat secretary-general Chalermchai Sri-on, the party’s key man in the coalition talks, explained that the party’s name was not mentioned because the party has its own working procedure. He assured the public, however, that the party would have an answer about whether they will join the Palang Pracharat-led coalition by tomorrow.
A Democrat party executive committee member Ms. Mallika Boonmeetrakul said there would be good news from the party tomorrow, assuring that the deal with the Palang Pracharat party is still on.
A group of executive committee members met with party leader Jurin Laksanavisit at a restaurant on Rama VI road this afternoon. Jurin smilingly told reporters that he just dropped in for a cup of coffee and chit-chat and not for talks on a coalition government.
