Over 2,800 cases reported in Bangkok per day over past week

For the past week, the number of daily new COVID-19 infections in Bangkok has exceeded 2,800.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration reported today (Thursday) that 3,063 new COVID-19 infections have been recorded in the capital, with two more deaths, bringing cumulative infections in the city to 66,017 since January 1st. Currently, 40,523 patients are in home isolation, while 22,422 patients are in community isolation.

The 10 districts with the highest number of new infections are Minburi (186), Jom Thong (184), Khlong Sam Wa (144), Saphan Soong (128), Chatuchak (108), Ratchathewi (101), Lak Si (101), Watthana (100), Lad Krabang (95) and Sai Mai (93).

According to previous information from the Disease Control Department, Bangkok was likely to see a surge in COVID-19 infections. The highest number recorded during the past week was on February 12th, when 3,237 cases were diagnosed.

Thailand’s daily COVID-19 infections reached a new high for this year today at 17,349 with 22 new fatalities. A total of 432,976 cases have been reported since January 1st.
