One new quarantined COVID-19 infection reported in Thailand

Thailand today (Sunday) recorded one new COVID-19 case in state quarantine.

According to the CCSA, the new case is a 47-year old Thai man, who returned to Thailand from Singapore on August 14th and entered state quarantine in Samut Prakan province.  He later tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

Cumulative infections in Thailand, to date, are 3,377, with 3,194 recoveries and 58 deaths. 125 others are still being treated in hospital.

Globally, cumulative infections, to date, are 21,602,258 and the total death toll is 768,673. 

The US tops the list of cumulative infections with 5,529,789 confirmed cases. Brazil is second, with 3,317,832, followed by India’s 2,589,208, Russia’s 917,884 and South Africa’s 583,653 cases.

Thailand is ranked at 114th place.
