NSC allays fears of unrests after political ban eased

National Security Council (NSC) Secretary General Gen Wanlop Raksanoh this morning tried to allay fears that there could political unrests after the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) eases the ban on political activities.
Speaking before a meeting of the NCPO at the Government House, Gen Wanlop was responding questions from journalists as to what he expected the political situation would be like after the ban is relaxed.
He said details of the ban relaxation would be known after today’s NCPO meeting and agencies concerned would then be advised on what to do next.
He said the situation in general has been normal as all political groups have been under a close watch.
Gen Wanlop admitted that there have been reports of underground political activities against the government, but the overall situation regarding this matter is under control.
