A 59-year-old taxi driver crashed his vehicle into Government House, on Phitsanuloke Road in Bangkok’s Dusit district, early Monday morning.
Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 3:30am. At the scene, they found the taxi partially embedded in the steel gate, which was nearly torn off its hinges.
Police found no suspicious items inside the vehicle.
When questioned, the driver admitted he had been drinking prior to the crash. He was taken to Dusit Police Station for a breathalyser test, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 159mg/dL, which is well above the legal limit for driving a vehicle.
