Rescue teams continued to try to locate a passenger today, who has been missing since Monday when a barge capsized at sea near Thalu Island in the Bang Saphan district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
The two other people on board were rescued by the crew of a fishing boat which came across the accident. They were taken ashore and to the district hospital for treatment.
Police report that the barge was heading from Chachoengsao province towards Surat Thani when it encountered a thunderstorm and gusty winds as it was approaching Thalu Island.
The engine room began to take on water and the barge capsized in the stormy sea.
