A joint operation, codenamed ‘Phra Pirun’, has seized more than 68 tonnes of untaxed pet food during separate raids on warehouses in Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon provinces.
The products, sold under the ‘Mr. Vet’ and ‘Bite of Wild’ brands, are estimated to be worth more than 30 million baht in total.
The raids were conducted by officials from the Livestock and Customs departments, along with police, after they received complaints that the products were being stored at warehouses in Krathum Baen district of Samut Sakhon and Muang district of Samut Prakan.
The warehouses were allegedly used as distribution centres, with the products subsequently sold online.
Officials will conduct further investigations to identify the owners of the companies involved and trace the routes used for the illegal imports.
