The initial examination by Thailand’s Central Institute of Forensic Science of the remains of travel vlogger Bowornthat Pengsuk, known online as ‘Hlun Solo’, shows that he could have died of heart failure.
The deceased arrived at the Suvarnabhumi airport this morning from Georgia and was immediately taken to the institute for an autopsy, which had been requested by his family through the Ministry of Justice to determine the exact cause of death.
Dr. Worawee Waiyawut, deputy director of the institute, told the media that initial examination did not find any trace of foul play or abnormalities in various organs, except for heart and circulatory failures.
He said that further examinations will be needed, including tests for poisoning and tissue examination, as well as assessment of the possibility of sudden unexplained nocturnal death syndrome.
The process could take about two weeks, he said, adding that the Ministry of Justice will coordinate with its Georgian counterpart, via the Thai Foreign Ministry, to get access to their autopsy report and information about any chemical tests which may have been done.
Dr. Verve said the Georgian authorities did not mention the cause of Bowornthat’s death, but that their autopsy procedure is up to the standard and did not find any trace of foul play.
He further explained that the second autopsy is more complicated than the first because it needs to clear up some suspicious issues.
