In his New Year’s message, His Majesty the King advised Thai people to refrain from carelessness, to live their lives with caution, mindfulness and wisdom. He reminded those who have duties to the country to achieve their goals for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people.
The King also praised the performance of Thai athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a source for joy for the country.
He noted, though, that there was suffering last year, as he referred to the devastating flooding in several provinces. This, he added, should serve a reminder to people that, in a person’s life, there are both happiness and sadness.
If the people are, however, united in sharing happiness and suffering and perform their duties to their best abilities, the King said that all obstacles will be overcome.
Their Majesties the King and Queen also presented their New Year’s greeting card to the Thai people.
