The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has issued urgent advisories for several northern provinces to prepare for flash floods, run-offs and landslides following heavy overnight rain.
Residents in areas at risk are instructed to move vehicles and valuables to higher ground immediately.
In Sukhothai province's Si Satchanalai district, heavy runoffs flooded communities across Ban Tuerk, Tha Chai, Mae Sin and Ban Kaeng sub-districts.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reported critical water levels at Ban Su-men Nuer monitoring station, recording 155.0 mm of accumulated rainfall.
The DDPM has issued Cell Broadcast emergency alerts to Wang Chin district in Phrae province, urging residents in low-lying zones to take precautions against sudden flooding.
A second emergency broadcast warned residents along the Chomphu Canal in Phitsanulok province's Noen Maprang district to monitor rising water levels as the canal nears overflow thresholds.
