The mother of a woman who went missing about eight years ago was recently informed by the Mirror Foundation that the remains of her daughter have been kept, unclaimed, at the Central Institute of Forensic Science of the Justice Ministry at Thammasat University Hospital since they were found on February 22nd, 2014.

The mother of 25-year-old Nong Air sought help from the Mirror Foundation several years ago in locating her daughter, after she went missing on February 14th, 2014.

The foundation tried without success until, not long ago, it asked for samples of her DNA, which were sent to the Central Institute of Forensic Science to compare with DNA samples from the remains being kept at the institute

The mother’s DNA matched that of the remains of a hitherto unidentified woman, who was found in the Pasak River in Ayutthaya province on February 22nd, 2014. The woman was stabbed to death and her body was dumped in the river.

Mirror Foundation will escort the mother to the institute tomorrow (Wednesday) to claim the remains, which will be given a proper funeral. The foundation will also ask the Tha Rua district police in Ayutthaya to revive the case for an investigation into who the murderer is.
