Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat will travel to Rayong province this Sunday, where he will introduce his party’s candidate for the by election.

Move Forward’s Rayong branch Facebook page reported on Wednesday that Pita and other core members will visit Klang and Khao Chamao. “Let’s meet them,” the page said.

The by-election next month became necessary after Move Forward MP Nakornchai Khunnarong tendered his resignation when his criminal past came to light. He was sentenced to eighteen months in prison 24 years ago for theft.

He claimed that he had believed that the crime for which he was convicted did not constitute an offence as stipulated in the Election Law.

Nakornchai won with 29,034 votes in the May general election, beating Payap Pongsai of Palang Pracharath by 7,308.
