Motorists advised to avoid Lat Phrao ahead of protest at The Mall Bangkapi today

Motorists are warned to avoid Lat Phrao Road, in Bangkok, from 3 to 9pm today (Friday) because of a protest by ant-establishment demonstrators, expected to be held in front of The Mall Bangkapi at 4.30pm.
Traffic police have advised motorists to avoid Lat Phrao at Bangkapi and Happy Land intersections, and use Ramkhamhaeng Road, Soi Mahard Thai 2, Lat Phrao Soi 130 and Lat Phrao out-bound lanes.
Motorists can call 1197 for information or use M-Help Me application.
Meanwhile, a group of artists, writers and independent media members rallied in front of the Bangkok Remand Prison this morning, to demand the release of eight protest leaders and activists currently being held on remand.
Six are on remand at Bangkok Remand Prison. They are Parit Chivarak, Panupong Jardnok, Anont Nampa, Ekkachai Hongkangwan, Patiwat Saraiyam and Somyos Prueksakasemsook.
Ms. Panasaya Sitthijirawattanakul is on remand at the Central Female Prison and Suranart Panprasert is at Bang Kwang maximum security prison.
In a statement, read in front of the Bangkok Remand Prison, the group also repeated their demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and reform of the Monarchy.
