Mother of drowned Thai actress seeks second autopsy by Central Institute of Forensic Science

The mother of the late Thai TV actress Nida Patcharaveerapong, aka “Tangmo” and her lawyer went to the investigative division of the First Region Provincial Police Bureau today (Saturday) to demand a second autopsy, to be performed by the Justice Ministry’s Central Institute of Forensic Science.

The lawyer, Kritsana Sriboonpimsuey, told the media that the Nida’s mother, Panida Sirayuthyothin, wants another autopsy, but was not sure that the police would agree, as he urged the media help support her wish.

The first autopsy was performed by the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine.

Kritsana also said that another lawyer will visit the Central Institute of Forensic Science on Monday to ask them to carry out the autopsy, as it is the wish of the late actress’s mother.

Kritsana said that he is scheduled to appear on the popular “Hone Krasae” TV talk show on Monday with Justice Minister Somsak Thepsuthin to talk about Nida’s case.

He added, after the TV program, he will submit a letter from Nida’s mother to the justice minister seeking a second autopsy.

The lawyer said Panida is suspicious about the wounds found on Nida’s body and wants the issue to be cleared up.

Meanwhile, seven people gathered in front of the Nonthaburi police station today to seek justice for the late TV actress and to demand the police to do their duty in a straightforward manner.

The Nonthaburi police are responsible for investigating Nida’s fatal fall into the Chao Phraya River from a speed boat containing five people, including her manager, on the night of February 24th.

The demonstrators also carried posters bearing Nida’s image and a message expressing condolences and demanding justice.

The group said that they do not believe Nida’s fall into the river was an accident and suspect that foul play was involved.
