Malls in Thailand’s 18 COVID-19 Red Zones to open 11am to 8pm until May 2nd

From tomorrow, until May 2nd, all shopping malls and department stores, with the exception of super markets, hyper markets, in Bangkok and 17 other provinces declared as Red zones, will only be open from 11am to 8pm.

Food outlets within department store can open until 9pm, and convenience stores can open from 5am to 10pm .

Mr. Yon Pokesap, president of the Thai Shopping Centres Association (TSCA), said today that the adjustment of the operating hours in the Red Zones is necessary in the wake of the third wave of COVID-19 infections, which is most serious to date.

He also said that all promotional activities, which draw people together, remain banned and more staff will be told to work from home.

TSCA members include MBK, The Mall Group, Central Pattana (Central Group), Siam Retail Development, The Platinum Group, Seacon Development, Siam Future Development, Siam Piwat Group and K.E. Land.
