Landslides posing danger to motorists in Tak and Nan

Highways Department has warned people travelling in two northern provinces of road obstructions caused by landslides and flash floods.

In Nan, embankments at the 78.5km marker on Highway 1081, connecting Laklai and Bo Kluea in Bo Kluea district, collapsed. Officials are currently constructing a bailey bridge to help the traffic.

On the same highway, at the 87.6km marker, landslides damaged two lanes. Officials are clearing the road of debrisand the route is expected to be reopened to traffic today.

On the same highway, at the 97.2km marker of the Bo Kluea-Chalermprakiat section, landslides damaged two lanes. The route is expected to be usable again tomorrow (Wednesday).

Landslides also hit two lanes of Highway 1256, heading to Doi Puka National Park in Bo Kluea district.

Meanwhile, in Tak province, flooding has damaged two sections of Highway 105, which links Mae Salid Luang and Mae Ngao at the 139km and 122km markers. Heavy rain is still falling in the area and officials are trying to facilitate the traffic.
