Kenny G, Grammy-award winner and legendary American jazz saxophonist, is all set to bring jazz (and blues) back to Hua HinBeach on May 7.

The International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 will be held at Hua Hin’s True Sport Arena, a two–hour drive south of Bangkok, showing the world that Thailand’s reopening to the global tourism market is in full swing.

The highlight is “Wonderful Night Kenny G” – a 90-minute live jazz performance by Kenny G, or Kenneth Bruce Gorelick, who is popular with Thai jazz aficionados.

Born in Seattle on the US West Coast, Kenny G is recognized for his smooth jazz. His “Breathless” album was released in 1992, and went on to become the best-selling instrumental album ever with over 15 million copies sold worldwide. The album included many hits such as “Forever in Love” – the recipient of a Grammy Award.

The International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 will be Kenny G’s first performance in Thailand.

Created in 2001, Hua Hin Jazz Festival focused on live jazz performances featuring local new talents and established jazz musicians. It afforded attendees and holidaymakers the opportunity to hear jazz music in far-off settings, hotel lobbies, and beach bars – but also encouraged festivalgoers to taste new foods, see new sights and meet new people.

Hua Hin Jazz Festival, which is known for being one of the best family-friendly music events in Thailand, had been dormant for the last three years due to the COVID pandemic, but it is back in action this year and with a great line-up.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand and event sponsors – including Singha Corporation – are confident that the sound of saxophone, trumpets, solid beats, and a day filled with sunshine will be the perfect combination to draw music lovers and holidaymakers to the A-listed resort.

Other than Kenny G, local jazz bands and artists including DRAGONFLY, Melodic Corner, and Mellow Motif will light up the stage of this, the first full music festival in three years.

Hua Hin’s music festival 2022 will wrap with a performance by blues band Yamin & The SOS (The Symbolic Of Star).

The International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 is a pandemic-free event with a capacity of 3,500 people due to COVID pandemic restrictions. Attendees must be fully vaccinated and show proof of a negative antigen test result issued within 72 hours of the music festival.
