It’s official: cold season will arrive on Oct 27

Thailand will be officially entering cold season on October 27, the Meteorological Department announced on Wednesday.

The department said that average temperature in the upper northern region is steadily dropping, with the lower up-level wind changed to eastern or  northeastern wind while the upper up-level wind  changed to western wind.

Also, the department said that the amount and spread of rainfall in the upper part of the country steadily dropping with the exception of the southern region which will experience intense rainfall for a certain period of time.

Several mountainous tourist attractions in the North and the Northeast are now flocked with tourists, especially during weekends or long weekends, to catch a glimpse of a sea of mist and a feel of cold weather.
