Thai herbal inhaler manufacturer, Hong Thai, is recalling 200,000 jars of its popular herbal inhaler and making full refunds or replacements, following the finding of microbial contamination in its ‘Formula 2’ product by Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA).
In a statement issued today, the firm acknowledged the Thai FDA’s inspection results and confirmed that the affected batch, production number 000332 (manufactured December 9, 2024 – expiry date December 8, 2027), has been removed from the market for destruction.
Hong Thai said it is coordinating with the Thai FDA to ensure the disposal of the products is carried out promptly, with the exact date to be announced later.
“The company respectfully accepts the findings and has recalled all affected products from the market,” the statement read, adding “We are also improving and upgrading our production processes, including enhanced quality checks at every stage and ultraviolet sterilisation, to ensure the safety and quality of our products.”
The company has pledged full refunds to any customers or partners who still have stocks of the contaminated batch, or will replace the returned products at no cost.
Returns can be sent to the company for refund or replacement.
The company apologised for the inconvenience and concern caused, thanking customers and partners for their understanding and continued trust.
It restated its commitment to improving production standards continuously, ensuring its herbal products remain safe, of high-quality and trusted by consumers.
