Outgoing Army Commander-in-Chief General Apirat Kongsompong has been appointed Deputy Secretary of the Royal Palace by His Majesty the King.

Also appointed to the same position is Naras Savestanan, Director-General of the Corrections Department.

The Royal appointments of the two men, who are due to retire at the end of this month, was published in the Royal Gazette on Tuesday.

General Apirat and Naras will report directly to Air Chief Marshal Sathitpong Sukwimol, Secretary-General of the Bureau of the Royal Household.

The Bureau of the Royal Household oversees the day-to-day operations of the Palace.
