His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen took part in the Royal Barge Procession today, in which 52 royally furnished vessels cruised along the Chao Phraya River, carrying Their Majesties to a royal merit-making ceremony.
.
The procession commemorates the 2026 Royal Kathin Ceremony, which traditionally sees Their Majesties travel to present Kathin robes to Buddhist monks at Arun Ratchawararam Ratchaworamahawihan Temple. It is also a celebration of Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s 48th birthday, which fell on June 3rd this year.
.
The procession, stretching over 1,280 metres and measuring 90 metres across in five columns, featured 2,000 oarsmen.
