Hundreds of demonstrators, led by the Student and People's Network for Thailand Reform, gathered in front of the Cambodian Embassy in Bangkok on Friday morning, to protest over the ongoing border dispute with Thailand.
Tensions between the neighbouring countries have escalated, since a clash between their troops in a disputed area on the edge of Ubon Ratchathani’s Nam Yuen district on May 28th, which left a Cambodian soldier dead.
Cambodia has vowed to take the case before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, while Thailand has expressed its intention to resolve the dispute through existing bilateral mechanisms.
