Future Forward leader Thanathorn says he’s ready to be prime minister

Future Forward acting party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit announced today that he is ready to be the next prime minister and to lead Thailand toward changes and new future.

“The Future Forward party is ready for changes and Thanathorn is ready to be prime minister,” said the flamboyant acting party
leader at the official launch of the party following its registration with the Election Commission last week.

He said that Future Forward, if it is in the government, would rewrite the whole constitution and reject the prolongation of the power of the junta in any forms.  The party, he added, will work with any other party which shares the same political ideology.

Thanathorn said that the next election will determine the future of the country when people have a choice to either live with dictatorship or freedom. The Future Forward party will use a primary vote to choose its election candidates, said Thanathorn, but he warned that the process might not be perfect because this would be the first time for the party.

Admitting that Future Forward is a new party, he said he could not predict how many MP seats the party would win in the election.

Acting party secretary-general Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, meanwhile, called on the government and the National Council for Peace and Order to treat all parties equally and fairly and should not introduce any new policy which will be binding to with the next government.
