The Sarng Anakot Thai Party has appointed former Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak as its chairman, after he formally applied to become a party member last Friday and was given membership number 10021871, said Uttama Savanayana, the party’s leader, today (Wednesday).

He added that Dr. Somkid will join a meeting of the party’s executive committee tomorrow, together with about 300 potential election candidates from across the country.

The party secretary-general, Sontirat Sontijirawong, said that the meeting tomorrow will be a general assembly of the party’s executive committee and potential candidates to prepare for the next general election.

He added that the meeting is intended to inform the public that the party is ready for the election.

Dr. Somkid, meanwhile, posted his image and a short message on social media, which reads: “It is the right time to join…. Sarng Anakot Thai Party”.
